Broadview Security "Backyard" Commercial

A mom and daughter are playing in the backyard and as the camera pulls back we see a shady, hoodlum type guy is watching them through the fence. As they head back into the house for lunch, mom prudently sets the alarm. Just then the burglar busts open the door as the girls scream in fear and surprise. The alarm goes off immediately and the phone instantly rings as the pair head up the stairs. The hood runs away in frustration as the mom answers the phone. It's the alarm company guy and he's sending help. The Announcer says "Brinks Home Security is now Broadview Security" and pitches the service along with some installation specials.

This series of ads is clearly using scare tactics to pitch home security alarms. The little girl looks really scared so hopefully she's a truly great 8 year old actress. But no alarm system in the world can have an alarm monitoring agent on the phone the instant the alarm goes off so we know it's all hype. The worst thing is, why would they change the name of the company? Brinks is the most legendary name in the security business and has been for more than a hundred years. So who are they really trying to protect?
