iDont, Droid Does from Verizon

This commercial for the Droid smartphone from Motorola and Google starts out with the upbeat song Magic (Oh Oh Oh) by MoZella while listing everything that the other phones don't do. It attacks the iPhone without calling it by name by using Apple's familiar word styling with "iDon't". The last line in the white screen is "Everything iDon't" before the commercial abruptly switches with alien-like sounds to the screen flashing "Droid Does".

This is a pretty good attack on the iPhone with the catchy music and clean presentation in the first part of the commercial. It's clever without being overdone. Still, I'm not sure if the alien encounter style is really going to appeal to everyone.

  1. Great point about the "alien encounter" style not appealing to everyone. Can you see girls you know getting excited by these ads? Doubt it. This is definitely meant to fire up guys.

That said, it is a pretty cool ad if you're into alien encounter fantasies. The first time I saw this one I was a bit weirded out.
